Allerton Waste Recovery Park | £29,500 per year | 7:30am – 3:30pm
- We're looking for hardworking, reliable people to join our Industrial Cleaning Team at Allerton Waste Recovery Park, working permanent day shifts.
- This is a tough, physically demanding job, and it's certainly not for everyone. You'll be working in a busy industrial waste treatment facility, getting hands-on with the machinery and equipment that processes household waste.
- It can be dirty, dusty, smelly and hot. You'll be working around industrial machinery, accessing difficult-to-reach areas, lifting and moving materials, and cleaning out waste and debris from industrial equipment.
- Think about everything people throw into their household bins – that's the environment you'll be working in.
- But if you're someone who enjoys physical work, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and takes pride in a job well done, this could be the opportunity for you.
What you need to know
- Salary: £29,500 per year
- Location: Allerton Waste Recovery Park – HG5 0SD
- Shift: Permanent day shifts, 7:30am – 3:30pm
- Annual leave: 24 days per year
- Parking: Free on-site parking
The Role
As an Industrial Cleaning Operative, you'll play an important role in keeping our waste treatment plant clean, safe and running efficiently.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out heavy-duty industrial cleaning of machinery, conveyors and waste processing equipment.
- Removing built-up waste, blockages and debris from machinery and equipment, following strict safety procedures and authorised access arrangements.
- Working at heights and accessing difficult-to-reach areas of the plant where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Undertaking physically demanding manual labour, including lifting, moving and clearing waste materials.
- Working in areas that can be hot, dusty, dirty and have strong odours.
- Using appropriate cleaning tools and equipment to maintain the plant.
- Following all health and safety procedures, including safe systems of work and equipment isolation requirements.
- Working closely with your teammates to get the job done safely and efficiently.
The Person
Experience in industrial cleaning, waste management, manufacturing, construction or other physically demanding environments would be useful, but having the right attitude is what really counts.
We're looking for people who:
- Are comfortable carrying out physically demanding work throughout their shift.
- Aren't put off by dirty, dusty or unpleasant working conditions.
- Are reliable, hardworking and take pride in doing a good job.
- Understand the importance of following safety procedures and instructions.
- Can work well as part of a team.
- Are willing to get stuck in and help wherever needed.
