Salary: £25,614 - £26,847 FTE (Actual Salary £13,845 - £14,511)

Grade: C/D SCP 3-6

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part-Time, 20 hour per week, all year round Working Pattern: 8:00am - 12:00pm Monday to Friday

Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring our school remains a safe, secure and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving and being part of a supportive school community.

About the Role:

As Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, security and maintenance of the school site and grounds. Working closely with the Estates Manager and wider school team, you will help ensure our facilities are clean, safe and fully operational.

Your duties will include:

• Opening and securing school buildings and grounds

• Acting as a designated key holder

• Carrying out routine site maintenance and minor repairs

• Undertaking health and safety compliance checks

• Maintaining external areas, ensuring they are safe and presentable

• Supporting contractors working on site

• Moving furniture and equipment as required

• Receiving deliveries and assisting with site logistics

• Reporting maintenance issues and helping manage site compliance systems

• Supporting the school's commitment to health, safety and safeguarding

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

• Has practical maintenance or caretaking experience

• Can work independently and use their initiative

• Has a good understanding of health and safety practices

• Is organised, reliable and takes pride in their work

• Can build positive working relationships with staff, contractors and visitors

• Is confident using basic IT systems

• Is flexible and willing to support across other Trust sites when required

• Most importantly, you will our commitment to creating a safe, positive environment where children can thrive.
