Commercial Credit Risk Oversight Lead Manager

We're looking for a Commercial Credit Risk Oversight Lead Manager to join our Prudential Risk team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role’ in shaping the Society's approach to Commercial Lending Credit Risk, providing independent oversight, insight and challenge across one of our most important risk areas.

Working within our Second Line of Defence, you'll have significant exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation, partnering with Directors, Chiefs and Senior Leaders to influence decisions, provide constructive challenge and help shape the future direction of Commercial Lending Credit Risk. This is a highly visible role that offers the opportunity to contribute strategically while maintaining a hands-on focus on risk oversight and assurance.

About the Role

• Leading the annual planning and delivery of the Commercial Credit Risk Oversight strategy and plan.

• Setting the strategic direction for the Commercial Lending Quality Assurance function, ensuring oversight activities remain focused on the areas of greatest risk and value.

• Attending and contributing to the Commercial Lending Credit Risk Committee, providing independent insight, challenge and recommendations to support effective decision making.

• Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, influencing decisions and helping ensure Commercial Lending risks are understood, appropriately managed and aligned to risk appetite.

• Sharing knowledge and expertise across the organisation, supporting the development of colleagues through coaching and technical guidance.

About You

To be successful in this role we need the successful person to have:

• Significant experience within Commercial Lending Credit Risk, whether gained in a first or second line risk environment.

• The ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders, including Directors and Chiefs.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk issues into clear and impactful messages.

• Experience of providing independent challenge, helping organisations make informed and balanced risk decisions.
