Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Sheffield to recruit an experienced Interim School Business Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive leadership team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operational and financial management of the school during a busy autumn term.The school is seeking an experienced professional who can hit the ground running and provide stability, leadership and operational oversight until Christmas.

Your new role
As Interim School Business Manager, you will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, taking responsibility for the school's business functions.Duties will include:

• Managing the school's budget and providing financial reports
• Monitoring income and expenditure and supporting financial planning
• Leading on procurement and contract management
• Overseeing HR administration, recruitment and personnel matters
• Managing premises, health and safety, facilities and compliance
• Supporting the leadership team with strategic operational planning
• Liaising with external stakeholders, suppliers and the local authority where required
• Ensuring school policies and processes remain compliant and effective

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working as a School Business Manager, Operations Manager or equivalent within a school setting
• Strong financial management and budget monitoring experience
• Knowledge of school compliance, safeguarding and health & safety responsibilities
• Experience of working within a primary school environment is desirable
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with staff, governors and external stakeholders
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Hays
