LOCATION(S): Leeds

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Leeds office.

We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our General Insurance (GI) Commercial Finance team. This is a highly visible role where you'll partner with senior business leaders to drive performance, support strategic decision-making, and deliver sustainable income and profit growth

You'll provide insightful financial analysis across P&L, Balance Sheet, Capital and Cash Flow, ensuring performance is clearly understood, effectively managed, and accurately reported. Through strong business partnering and high-quality management information, you'll help shape commercial decisions and influence business outcomes.

You'll also play a key role in developing plans, financial forecasting, and scenario modelling, challenging assumptions to ensure targets are achievable and long-term profitability is maintained. In addition, you'll support strategic initiatives and pricing decisions by assessing the financial impact of proposed changes and helping prioritise business investment and transformation activity.

What you'll be doing

• Providing financial and commercial modelling to support the delivery of initiatives, responding to the changing regulatory environment and support ongoing trading.
• Understand and articulate the revenue and/or cost drivers and use these to optimise business opportunities, manage change and drive improvement initiatives.
• Support investment projects & cases. Ensure interlock on all investment/project benefits, financial tracking and objectives.
• Support and deliver the 4YOP, Quarterly Forecasts, Rolling monthly forecasts and QBR outputs for GI.
• Work with Actuarial, Pricing & Commercial teams to build challenging and credible plans.
• Providing insight, development & reporting of new & existing forms of metrics to meet the needs of customers.
Presenting to senior partners, ensuring that results and issues are well understood and explained in a way that is relevant to the business.

What you'll need

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Finance professional with a consistent record gained in a range of roles, ideally with Business Partnering experience.
• Strong financial planning, forecasting and modelling capability.
• Experience influencing and building effective relationships with senior partners.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.
• Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to constructively challenge and influence decision-making using compelling arguments.
• A proven track record of delivering results and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience identifying financial risks and opportunities and translating analysis into practical recommendations.

And any experience of these would be really useful

• Experience within General Insurance or a broader insurance environment.
• Knowledge of General Insurance financial processes, products and performance drivers.
• Experience working closely with Pricing, Commercial or Actuarial teams.
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation, investment or strategic change programmes.
Experience in Power Platform tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate)
