About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding Team Leader role, combining time spent supporting our services across Selby with two days each week based at our office in Thirsk.

You will be an important part of our operational management team, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure excellent standards of care, effective governance and consistent service delivery.

You will also support staff development, encourage learning and promote a culture that is open, supportive and fair.

As a Team Leader, you will help ensure people receive high-quality, person-centred support that promotes choice, independence and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Your Team Leader responsibilities will include:

  • Leading by example in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support.
  • Supporting the creation, implementation and review of individual care plans.
  • Ensuring care plans are understood and followed effectively by the team.
  • Supervising, coaching, mentoring and supporting Personal Assistants and Personal Health Assistants.
  • Supporting staff to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.
  • Assisting the Registered Manager with operational governance and service delivery.
  • Helping maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.
  • Managing rota requirements and supporting staffing across the 24-hour care cycle.
  • Providing on-call support when required.
  • Building strong relationships with the people we support, their families, colleagues and other professionals.
  • As a Team Leader, you will work closely with different teams and respond positively to the changing needs of the services.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference. You should be able to combine compassionate care with confident leadership.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience supporting people with complex health and/or social care needs.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a care or support environment.
  • Experience managing, guiding or mentoring teams.
  • The ability to create and implement care plans.
  • The ability to ensure teams work effectively in line with care plans.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A positive and proactive approach to leadership.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding care.
  • A full UK driving license and access to your own car.
  • A full driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential due to working across Selby.

Previous experience in a similar Team Leader or senior care role would be beneficial. We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships and support teams to deliver excellent care
