Location – Leeds

? Four-day working week, for five days’ pay

Are you the sort of creative who actually quite enjoys making things perfect ?

We’re looking for a Creative Artworker / Designer to join an independent creative activation agency in Leeds, working across some major FMCG and retail brands.

This is a role for someone with around 3–4 years’ agency experience who sits nicely between design and artwork .

You’ve got a really good eye. You can design. You understand layout, typography and what makes creative work look great.

But you’re equally happy getting stuck into the detail.

Taking an approved creative route and rolling it out. Making amends. Resizing. Retouching. Creating different versions. Preparing artwork for production. Checking everything twice.

Because sometimes the job is creating something new.

And sometimes the job is moving a logo 3mm to the left for the fourth time.

You need to be happy doing both.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work alongside the agency’s creative team to turn ideas into beautifully crafted, technically accurate finished work.

That will include:

Designing as well as artworking – This isn’t a purely technical production role. You’ll have the design ability and judgement to develop layouts and solve visual problems yourself.

?? Taking creative through to final artwork – Turning concepts and key visuals into polished, production-ready work without losing what made the original idea good.

Handling amends and rollouts – Confidently working through client feedback, multiple versions, different formats and changing specifications.

? Creating work for the retail environment – Producing assets across areas such as POS, displays, in-store communications, promotions and wider shopper activations.

Sweating the detail – Typography, colour, imagery, alignment, consistency, brand guidelines and technical specifications all matter to you.

? Getting work production-ready – Preparing files properly for print and other outputs, checking artwork and spotting potential problems before they become expensive ones.

Working closely with creatives – Collaborating with designers, art directors and the wider agency team to protect the creative idea all the way through execution.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll probably have around 3–4 years’ experience within a creative, design or integrated agency and a portfolio that demonstrates both creative ability and really strong artwork craft .

We’re looking for someone with:

? Strong skills across InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

A genuinely good eye for design, typography, layout and composition

Strong technical artwork skills and an understanding of print production

Brilliant attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies before anyone else does

Experience dealing with amends, versioning, resizing and campaign rollouts

The ability to work accurately when there are multiple jobs, versions and deadlines flying around

A collaborative attitude and no problem taking feedback or getting stuck into the less glamorous parts of the creative process

Shopper Experience?

It would definitely help.

The agency specialises in shopper marketing and brand activation , so experience within shopper, retail, FMCG or activation would be a real advantage.

If you already understand things like POS, retail environments, displays and how creative needs to work in the physical shopper environment, even better.

But for this particular role, they’re not expecting you to be the person developing the overarching shopper strategy.

What matters most is that you have the design eye and technical ability to take good creative and execute it brilliantly .

Why It’s Worth A Look

This is an established independent agency with more than 40 years’ experience in shopper and brand activation, working with some major household-name clients.

They’ve had a really strong period of new business growth and are investing in their creative team.

There’s also a pretty significant perk:

You work four days a week and get paid for five.

And that really does mean four days. These aren’t five long days squeezed into four.

The team works together from their Leeds studio, so this will suit someone who enjoys being around other creatives rather than working in isolation at home.

Sound Like You?

We’re looking for someone who can sit comfortably in that space between creative design and meticulous artwork .

Someone who can make something look better, but also make sure it’s absolutely right.

Someone who’ll happily design a new layout one minute and work through a lengthy set of amends the next without feeling like the second job is beneath them.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to see your portfolio.
