Freight / Logistics Coordinator (Engineering)

Location: Leeds

Contract: 6 months (possible temp to perm)

Rate: £17 - £19/hour PAYE

What you'll be doing:
Coordinate global import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade laws
Work closely with specialist carriers, port operators and freight forwarders to support shipments
Prepare and verify shipping and customs documentation, including CDS entries, bills of lading, Certificates of Origin (CoO) and packing lists
Plan and book UK and international transport, optimising routes, loads and freight costs
Monitor shipment progress, maintain accurate records, and provide real-time updates to internal teams
Carry out day-to-day administration, including PO generation, data entry and email support

What you'll bring:
Experience in freight coordination, transport planning or logistics
Knowledge of out-of-gauge, break bulk or oversized cargo handling (road, sea or multimodal)
Understanding of customs procedures, Incoterms and international trade compliance
Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
SAP ERP experience
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
