Aldwark Manor Estate is a privately owned Hotel with Golf nestled in a picturesque village between York and Harrogate. Set in 200 acres of beautiful countryside, this luxury Hotel provides a complete escape for both business and leisure guests and is a popular venue for weddings.

December 2025 marked the completion and opening of the new Salus Spa facilities, further enhancing the estate’s luxury leisure offering. The next phase of development will see the addition of new bedrooms, expanded event spaces and additional treatment rooms, all scheduled to open later this year.

Purpose of the role:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Restaurant Manager to join our team at Aldwark Manor Estate. Elements is a fabulous 80 cover restaurant with round central bar serving Rosette level food, wine and cocktails. As the leader of Elements, you are responsible for overseeing your department to deliver an excellent guest and team member experience in accordance with the Aldwark Manor Estate Service Standards. You will have a passion for food, wine and cocktails and be able to deliver the highest standards in a fast-paced environment. The Restaurant is open all day: breakfast, lunch, afternoon, and dinner so you must be experienced in all areas

Main duties of the role:

  • Be responsible for the running and management of the maintenance department, leading team members through positive reinforcement and providing continual on-the-job training.
  • statutory compliance, inspections, records, remedial actions and audits to be managed
  • Complete and maintain all required compliance and facilities-based paperwork with strong understanding of health and safety.
  • Fulfil managerial tasks including ensuring department is covered for the business requirements including weekend and at times late nights, managing holidays, carrying out appraisals and equipment management.
  • To undertake practical maintenance tasks where appropriate and within the individual's competence, while maintaining overall responsibility for the effective management, prioritisation and delivery of the Estate's maintenance function
  • Action schedules to ensure the fabric of the building is both aesthetically well-maintained, as well as wholly compliant with all areas of legislation, completing necessary checks and records.
  • Ensure that all tasks, requests, and project work is carried out to high finishing standards and in a timely matter, meeting agreed timescales on project work.
  • Ensure that the planned maintenance schedules and project schedules are kept up to date.
  • Manage reactive task as well as proactive work ensuring that effective communication is happening with all departments.
  • Ensure all contractors are supported and monitored whilst on site
  • Work closely with the Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager to maintain company standards within guest bedrooms and public areas. Carrying out planned preventative maintenance as well as reactive maintenance of the building and its grounds.
  • Manage all assets maintenance contracts.
  • Support and work with Hotel Manager on upcoming and ongoing projects.
  • Attend site meetings as required
  • To maintain close liaison with other Managers to ensure effective running of the Estate.
  • Attend meetings including HOD Meeting and Health and Safety
  • Monitor and control energy costs advising on savings, review contractors and suppliers to achieve the best value for money.
