Reports to: HR & Payroll Manager
Ashcourt Group is looking for an organised and professional HR Administrator to support the day-to-day operation of the Group's HR function. The role will provide administrative support across employee correspondence, recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, company benefits, probation tracking, policies and reporting.
Working closely with the HR & Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will help ensure employee records and HR systems remain accurate and up to date, while supporting the wider HR and payroll team with a range of administrative duties.
Assist with preparing and issuing HR correspondence to employees.
Support recruitment and onboarding processes through the company's online HR system.
Assist with notifying HMRC of changes to company benefits.
Monitor employee probation periods and follow up with relevant managers where required.
Assist with ensuring company HR policies remain up to date.
Support the day-to-day management and administration of HR systems.
Maintain accurate employee information, including reporting lines, job titles, pay increases and supporting documentation.
Produce monthly HR reports, including sickness absence and HR documentation tracking.
Provide payroll cover during periods of holiday or absence within the team.
Support the HR & Payroll Manager and wider team with ad-hoc administrative duties as required.
The successful candidate should have:
Previous general administration experience.
Excellent IT skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Good organisation and time-management skills.
Strong administrative and planning abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
A courteous and professional manner.
Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Knowledge of SAGE 50 Payroll and Sage HR would be advantageous. A CIPD qualification and full driving licence are also listed as desirable within the existing role specification.
As part of the role, the HR Administrator will be expected to:
Follow and adhere to company risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work and PPE requirements where applicable.
Comply with all relevant legal and company health and safety requirements.
Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions.
Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations by providing relevant statements or evidence where required.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and comfortable working with confidential employee information. The role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when maintaining HR records, producing reports and updating employee information.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who can work well as part of a busy HR and payroll team while also managing their own workload. Previous HR experience would be beneficial, although candidates with strong administrative experience, good IT skills and an interest in developing a career within HR would also be well suited to the position.
