School Therapist

We have a great opportunity to join Northpoint as a School Therapist within our School Therapy Services across the Leeds area. In this role, you will provide therapeutic support to children and young people within various school settings, helping to improve emotional wellbeing, resilience and mental health outcomes through early intervention and evidence-based practice.

You will join us on a part time, permanent basis (30 hours per week, term time only) with a salary of £32,440 - £40,530 per annum (pro rata), Northpoint Band F1.

As a School Therapist, you will be a key part of our School Therapy Services team, supporting children and young people within Leeds schools to improve their mental health, emotional wellbeing and resilience.

You will be responsible for:

• Delivering short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and young people within primary and secondary school settings.

• Managing a caseload, carrying out assessments, formulation, and therapeutic support tailored to individual needs.

• Working collaboratively with school staff, parents/carers, and partner agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to support.

• Providing consultation, guidance, and advice to schools while promoting safeguarding, positive mental health, and resilience

What are we looking for in our ideal School Therapist?

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working in a varied, people-facing role.

• A relevant therapeutic qualification, including a diploma from a BACP-accredited training programme (or equivalent) and/or a relevant HCPC-registered qualification.

• Experience of delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people, including undertaking assessments, managing risk, and supporting a range of emotional and mental health needs.

• An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and risk management.

• Ability to travel independently across multiple locations within Kirklees to meet service requirements.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, school staff, and partner agencies.

• A commitment to inclusivity, empowerment and supporting people to take an active role in their wellbeing.
