Literacy & Numeracy Intervention Teaching Assistant - Doncaster
September 2026 Start Full-Time Long-Term Position £100 per day
A primary school in Doncaster is seeking a committed and experienced Intervention Teaching Assistant to provide additional academic support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The school is looking for someone who can work closely with pupils requiring targeted support in English and Maths, helping them make accelerated progress through structured intervention programmes.
The Role
Working across a range of year groups, you will:
- Deliver focused literacy and numeracy interventions to small groups and individual pupils
- Support teachers in raising attainment across core subjects
- Help identify barriers to learning and implement appropriate support strategies
- Track and report on pupil progress following intervention sessions
- Promote positive attitudes towards learning and achievement
- Provide support for children with additional learning needs, including SEN
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
- Is confident supporting pupils across both KS1 and KS2
- Has strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Understands how to support pupils who are working below age-related expectations
- Has experience supporting children with SEN
- Can confidently manage behaviour and encourage engagement
- Is patient, adaptable and committed to improving outcomes for pupils
