Website & SEO Specialist

We are looking for a digital marketing professional to maintain and update our company’s website to meet end-user needs and increase visibility, traffic and revenue.

You will be joining a 15-strong Audiences team who work on marketing and brand campaigns promoting touring operas, orchestral concerts and film screenings, gigs at the Howard Assembly Room, participation and education work, fundraising, and more. Beyond the Audiences team you will be the first point of contact across the organisation for website edit and development requests, and the first point of contact for our website development agency.

We are looking for someone to bring creativity and curiosity to our fast-paced team. This is a particularly exciting time to join us, as we are in the early stages of a project to develop a new website.

Key Accountabilities:

• Maintain and update the Opera North website, ensuring it is functional, customer-centric, meets usability standards and delivers the optimum end-user experience.
• Upload all events to the website, ensuring effective integration of our ticketing platform (Spektrix) with the website, and delivering a smooth customer experience that drives sales, memberships and donations.
• Using keyword research, upload and optimise website content to increase visibility across traditional and AI search engines, drive traffic to the website and ultimately increase web conversions.
• Work closely with the wider Audiences Team to create bespoke landing pages for key campaign activity.
• Liaise with colleagues from across the organisation to gather resources and information to create effective web pages to promote Opera North as required.
• Use reporting analytics to provide insights on marketing campaigns and proactively identify opportunities to make website improvements.
• Be the first point of contact for the website development agency, briefing them on website development requirements and new projects, and liaising with the Audiences team on agency insights and feedback.
• Conduct user research as required to understand website usage and target audiences.
• Maintain the company Sharepoint intranet site.

Person Specification:

• Applicable experience in digital marketing, with knowledge of updating websites and using analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Looker Studio.
• Well organised with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and plan and prioritise workload.
• Ability to work supportively and collaboratively within a team, as well as autonomously.
• Curious and experimental, excited to test out new ideas, with a data-driven approach to measuring success.

Terms & Conditions:

Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £27,000 - £29,500 (dependent on experience)

Holiday entitlement: 33 days inclusive of 8 statutory holidays, per annum

Pension: Opera North will automatically enrol you into the company pension scheme upon appointment and after 3 months’ service will contribute equivalent to 5.5% of your basic pay, should you meet the current legislative criteria. You will be required to make a personal contribution of 2.5% of your basic pay. We reserve the right to make future changes to our pension arrangements.
