Tower Vets have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Clinical Director to join our fantastic practice in in the heart of the beautiful city of York.
The Practice
Tower Vets have been providing local veterinary care to York pets and farm animals since the 1950s and have a reputation for providing professional, quality care with a family feel. Now solely a Small Animal General Practice, we are looking for an inspiring MRCVS to join the family and lead this wonderful practice.
The Practice has an extremely supportive team, who are invested in creating and maintaining an inclusive, collaborative culture, where wellbeing is prioritised. They enjoy spending time socialising together outside of work, on team walks etc.
The Role
As clinical director you will have overarching responsibility for the business; you will work alongside an established senior team to lead the people, operational direction and be fundamental in setting strategy and maintaining excellent clinical standards across the three sites.
Day to day responsibilities include line managing a team of vets and team leaders across three sites; ensuring the financial viability of the business through managing services, purchasing, and creating new business opportunities; and working with your Business Development Director to engage with the wider VetPartners business.
This role will allow the successful candidate to work autonomously to ensure the continued success of this wonderful practice whilst offering support, mentorship, and training to develop people, and build on our values-based culture.
In the role you will be supported by the Practice Manager, Team Leaders, your Business Development Director and a support office team who are experts within their fields.
The Person
Whilst some leadership experience would be beneficial, it is not essential as we are keen to find the right person for the role and full training and support will be given.
The successful candidate must be a confident vet who can make clinical decisions, support junior members of the team and appraise clinical provision.
We are looking for a compassionate leader; who sees their success as that of their teams; the ability to communicate well with people and clients is essential, as is the ability to prioritise and delegate where required.

We understand that life does not always fit into Monday-Friday, therefore we are happy to consider any working pattern or hours.
