Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance. Responsibilities
Safely operate Walking Floor lorries to deliver goods to specified locations within scheduled timeframes
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal requirements
Load and unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit
Follow all road safety regulations and company policies during driving operations
Ensure the security of cargo during transit and at delivery points
Assist with vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
Valid UK driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or equivalent qualification
Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of route planning and time management
Knowledge of road safety regulations and legal requirements for commercial vehicles
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
Ability to operate flatbed equipment safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late evenings if necessary
