The Opportunity
As Deputy Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the successful launch and ongoing leadership of our new home.
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you'll help create a positive, supportive environment where residents receive outstanding person-centred care and colleagues feel valued, motivated, and empowered.
This is far more than a compliance-focused management role. We're looking for someone who can bring energy, innovation, and compassion to everything they do, helping transform a new building into a thriving community and a true home.
What You'll Do
Lead and Inspire
Support, mentor and develop our care team, fostering a culture of kindness, accountability and excellence.
Deliver Outstanding Care
Champion person-centred care that reflects each resident's life story, preferences, interests and aspirations.
Support the Successful Launch of the Home
Help establish exceptional standards, embed best practice and contribute to creating a warm, welcoming home from day one.
Act as a Trusted Leader
Confidently oversee the day-to-day running of the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
Build Meaningful Relationships
Develop positive partnerships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders.
Maintain Quality and Compliance
Support the delivery of high-quality care while ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements and company policies.
Manage Incidents and Safeguarding
Review, investigate and respond appropriately to accidents, incidents and concerns, ensuring all statutory reporting requirements are met.
Promote Effective Communication
Ensure clear handovers, open communication and collaborative working across all departments.
Support Team and Resident Engagement
Participate in and lead staff meetings, resident forums and initiatives that enhance life within the home.
Flexibility
You will need to be flexible in your approach to meet the needs of the business. Occasionally you may be required to cover weekends or nights.
About You
You'll be an experienced care professional who combines strong leadership skills with genuine compassion.
You'll ideally have:
Experience in a senior or supervisory role within a residential, nursing or dementia care setting.
A strong understanding of person-centred care and current care regulations.
Experience in Digital Care Plans
Medication Management.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The confidence to lead teams, make decisions and support others to succeed.
A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care as a minimum (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards).
A genuine passion for enriching the lives of older people.
