Introduction to YSJ
Situated in the heart of the historic city of York, and with the addition of our London Campus, York St John University has a long and proud tradition as a distinguished higher education provider.
Our success is founded on the quality of academic teaching and research, our thriving campus environments, our professional and pastoral support, and our values of an inclusive, innovative and ambitious community with a strong sense of belonging.
The Team
You will join the Specialist Technical team, providing dedicated support and specialist facility management to the Health suite of programmes. Working closely with the academic team you will be required to have a constant overview and maintain the specialist environments and equipment within the facility. You will also be expected to oversee key aspects of simulated activities and in lesson support as directed by the academic team, engaging with students to help facilitate their learning.
The role
This is an exciting time to join the team as we grow our health department here at York St John. We have a long history of offering Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy programmes, and over the last few years we have welcomed Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing BSc, Paramedic Science, Language and Speech Therapy, Operating Department Practice, and we are introducing Diagnostic Radiography and Midwifery. Along with the introduction of these courses we have also invested and created new facilities for these areas, including a midwifery suite, an MRI room and an X-Ray room that will open in September 2026 to our new students.
We would like to welcome those seeking a part time or full time post (multiple posts).
Required skills and experience
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting the management of resources and equipment. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, experience of previously working in a higher education and/or health profession is desirable but not essential.
