This is a very exciting time to join Professional Education and Skills at the University of York as we have a vision and mandate for growth endorsed by the University Executive Board. Backed by significant strategic investment, your mission will be to execute our ambitious growth strategy to substantially increase our training revenue from technology, engineering and applied science.

Role

As the critical driver of growth, you will leverage your strategic B2B business development expertise to dramatically expand our portfolio of corporate and public-sector clients for bespoke training programmes in the areas of technology, engineering and applied science.

Your role will be to identify, qualify, and secure high-value contracts by deeply understanding client organisational needs and matching these needs to our training expertise, working with our network of internal and external trainers to create tailored, impactful training solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Business Development and Revenue Generation
  • Client Partnership & Needs Analysis
  • Market Expertise & Brand Awareness

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

  • Proven track record of building relationships with industry partners and generating income.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in identifying market opportunities and creating viable leads.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to identify and analyse workforce development needs and correlate those needs with our training portfolio and expertise and the ability to create marketing content.
  • Strong ability to build relationships internally, develop a high level of understanding of our academic expertise and translate that into a course roadmap
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft strong proposals and tender responses
  • Level 6 qualification. We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
