Location: Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall, YO32 5SW
Pay rate: £12.71 per hour (age dependent)
Hours: Permanent, zero-hour contract, when business requires them – lot of weekend work
Shift patterns: 6.30am to 2pm or 12 noon to 7pm

Aramark UK is proud to support the Defence sector, and we’re looking for a dedicated Food Service Assistant to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Barracks. If you’re passionate about great service and want to be part of a team that makes a difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do:

As a Food Service Assistant, you’ll be front and centre in delivering a welcoming experience to our customers. Your day-to-day will include:

• Serve food and beverages to customers
• Clean back of house areas, crockery, and cutlery
• Clean and tidy counter, light equipment/machines, preparation, and public areas (tables and chairs)
• Perform basic cold food preparation and made to order services
• Restock goods and ensure appropriate displays of merchandise
• Report to line manager any feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock needs, breakages, faults, or hazards identified during the work
• Perform daily paperwork
• Keeps diligent records as required
• Follow food hygiene and safety procedures.

What we’re looking for:

• A friendly, customer-focused attitude
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality is a bonus – but not essential, full training provided
• Must be 18+
• Eligibility to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for at least 3 years (security clearance required)
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Own or reliable transport required due to remote location and limited public transport
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.
