Supply Support Worker – Arts and Music Workshops


Are you creative, enthusiastic and passionate about helping people achieve their full potential?

Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre is looking for caring and reliable Supply Support Workers to provide one-to-one support for our Art Makers within our vibrant art and music-based workshops.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a unique, creative environment where every day is different. You will support adults with disabilities to take part in meaningful activities, develop their skills, build confidence and express themselves through creativity.

About the role

As a Supply Support Worker, you will provide personalised one-to-one support to Art Makers attending a variety of creative workshops, including art, crafts and music.

Your support will be tailored to the individual and may include:

  • Encouraging participation in creative activities.
  • Supporting Art Makers to make choices and communicate their wishes.
  • Helping individuals develop confidence, independence and new skills.
  • Providing emotional reassurance and positive encouragement.
  • Supporting mobility, personal care, eating and drinking where required.
  • Following individual support plans, risk assessments and agreed guidance.
  • Promoting dignity, choice, inclusion and independence.
  • Working closely with workshop leaders and the wider centre team.
  • Helping to create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment.

You do not need to be a professional artist or musician. What matters most is that you are patient, compassionate, dependable and willing to get involved.


Salary: £13.55 per hour

Hours per week: 0

Weeks per Year: 52

Closing Date: 28/08/2026 at 12 noon


Requirements:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in supporting adults with disabilities.
  • Is friendly, approachable and able to build positive relationships.
  • Is patient, calm and able to adapt their support to different individuals.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully.
  • Is reliable and able to work flexibly.
  • Enjoys creative, practical or music-based activities.
  • Understands the importance of dignity, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Can work independently while also contributing to a supportive team.
  • Is willing to complete all required training.

Previous experience in care, support work, education or working with adults with disabilities would be beneficial, but it is not essential. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to person-centred support are equally important.
