Teaching Assistant

Horbury Full-Time Long-Term Opportunity

Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Horbury to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class on a full-time, long-term basis.

This role is ideally suited to a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The class has a high level of additional needs, therefore experience working with pupils who require tailored support strategies is essential.

The Role

• Support pupils within a Year 3 classroom, both individually and in small groups.
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs.
• Help implement individual support plans and interventions.
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence.
• Contribute to a positive, nurturing and structured learning environment.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.
• Essential experience supporting pupils with SEN.
• Understanding of a range of additional needs and effective support strategies.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, positive and proactive approach.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
