Job Requirements/Description

Join Inspire North as a Housing Support Worker!

Are you passionate about helping people rebuild their lives and achieve lasting independence?

At Inspire North, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live safely, independently and with dignity. As a Housing Support Worker within our Selby Resettlement and Community Safety Scheme (RACSS), you'll support individuals with a history of offending who are supervised by the National Probation Service. Through practical support, guidance and encouragement, you'll help people overcome barriers, sustain tenancies, reduce the risk of reoffending and successfully reintegrate into their communities.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll provide tailored one-to-one housing-related support in the community, working closely with clients to identify their goals and develop the skills and confidence needed to live independently. You'll build positive and professional relationships, carry out support and risk assessments, coordinate support plans, and act as a key link between clients and partner agencies.

You will also play an important role in supporting accommodation placements, tenancy sustainment, homelessness prevention, safeguarding, and property management activities, helping ensure clients have access to safe and suitable housing.

What Makes You Our Kind of Person:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs, including housing, homelessness, offending histories and mental health challenges.
  • Ability to build positive relationships, manage professional boundaries and support people to achieve their goals.
  • Strong case management skills, including risk assessments, support planning and accurate record keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues and partner agencies while responding appropriately to safeguarding and risk concerns.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with an understanding of housing support and tenancy sustainment, and able to work independently with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
