An opportunity has arisen within this Fire Service's Estates & Facilities section for a Maintenance Operative Driver, to cover various stations within South Yorkshire.

Location: Covering various sites within South Yorkshire
Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours per week (Flexi Time)
Work Pattern: 8.30am-4.30pm Monday-Thursday, 8.30am-4pm Friday
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £25,949 per annum (Grade 2) To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026.
The overall purpose of the role is to support the safe and effective running of Fire Service premises by carrying out basic maintenance, porterage, caretaking and driving duties across their sites.
This is a varied and responsive role where no two days are the same, requiring the postholder to think on their feet, communicate regularly with the Helpdesk and stations, prioritise jobs, and adapt quickly to changing operational needs, including supporting incidents with refreshments, welfare supplies and operational items when required.

New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. The employer offers 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years' service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. They also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.
