Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting a PMLD Teaching Assistant for temporary, ongoing supply work across specialist SEN schools in Doncaster.

This PMLD Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit someone who is confident supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex needs. Specialist schools may cater for varied age ranges, with some settings also including post-16 provisions.

Position: PMLD Teaching Assistant

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply

Pay: £92.56 - £100 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role

Working as a PMLD Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will provide educational, personal and physical support to pupils with complex learning and additional needs.

The PMLD Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support communication, learning, personal development and independence, while ensuring pupils' individual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with PMLD and complex needs
• Provide classroom and individual support
• Assist with communication and sensory activities
• Support personal care and physical needs where required
• Encourage independence and engagement
• Follow individual support and care plans
• Work closely with teachers and specialist staff
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and dignity

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex needs
• Experience within an SEN, education or care setting
• Personal care experience is desirable
• Patient, compassionate and resilient approach
• Comfortable supporting pupils with physical and learning needs
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS or willingness to obtain both
