Commercial Litigation Senior Associate / Legal Director

A leading national law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its highly regarded Commercial Litigation team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced disputes lawyer to join a market-leading practice acting for major corporates, insurers, financial institutions, public sector organisations and commercial clients on a broad range of complex and high-value disputes. The role offers exposure to nationally significant work, genuine progression opportunities and the chance to become a key figure within a growing Yorkshire team.

Your new role

Working as part of a collaborative and nationally recognised disputes practice, you will manage a varied caseload while supporting strategic client relationships and business development initiatives.

Your work is likely to include:

• Complex commercial contract disputes
• Shareholder, partnership and director disputes
• Professional negligence claims
• Business-critical injunctions and emergency relief applications
• Financial and regulatory disputes
• Contentious insolvency matters
• Procurement and public sector disputes
• Breach of warranty and commercial transaction disputes
• ADR, mediation and settlement negotiations
• High Court and multi-track litigation

You will also play an active role in mentoring junior lawyers, managing client relationships and contributing to the ongoing growth of the Leeds practice.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• 6+ years' PQE gained within a recognised commercial litigation practice
• Strong experience handling complex and high-value disputes
• Proven ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy
• Excellent client management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong advocacy, drafting and negotiation abilities
• A commercial mindset with an interest in business development
• Previous supervisory or mentoring experience
