Teaching Assistant - Primary School

• Full-Time 8:30am - 3:30pm

Reed Education are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the DN7 area on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

This rewarding role will involve providing support to four pupils across Key Stage 2, helping them to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.

The Role

You will be supporting:

• 2 pupils requiring academic support to help them engage with learning and make progress.
• 2 pupils with complex behavioural needs, including one pupil with undiagnosed ASD, requiring consistent support, understanding, and positive behaviour management strategies.

A structured timetable will be in place to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children within an educational setting.
• Is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviours.
• Has experience using de-escalation techniques effectively.
• Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and gain their trust.
• Is patient, resilient, and adaptable.
• Works well as part of a wider school team.
