IT Portfolio Manager

Elevation Technology & Transformation are recruiting on behalf of a major transport operator, running thousands of services daily across the region. Technology sits behind every part of that operation, from real-time passenger information to ticketing and internal infrastructure, and this is a genuinely senior role shaping how that technology change happens.

Our client is recruiting an IT Portfolio Manager to lead the full portfolio of IT projects across the business, at director level, reporting directly into senior IT leadership. You'll set the direction for how change is prioritised, delivered and governed, and you'll be the person senior stakeholders turn to when priorities compete and decisions need shaping.

This isn't a back-office scheduling role. You'll lead and develop a team of Project Managers and Planning Analysts, own budgets, resourcing and supplier relationships, and bring together IT disciplines including Operations, Architecture, Data and Business Analysis so they deliver as one function. You'll be trusted to challenge, to push back where it's needed, and to bring commercial pace and clarity to a complex, high-demand environment.

What we're looking for:

• Strong experience leading large-scale IT portfolios, ideally in complex or regulated environments
• A track record of building and leading delivery-focused teams
• Genuine confidence operating at senior and board level, able to explain complex ideas simply and influence decisions
• Experience owning IT budgets, risk, governance and supplier performance
• PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent
• The energy and commercial instinct to bring fresh challenge to an established environment, not just process for its own sake

The package:

• Salary up to £85,000
