Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, the Business Intelligence Developer has responsibility for designing, developing, maintaining and enhancing reports and dashboards that support data-driven decision making across the organisation. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translating these into effective solutions and ensuring data is presented accurately, clearly and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and enhance dashboards, reports and self-service analytics solutions using Qlik Sense and/or Power BI.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements, understand reporting needs and translate these into scalable BI solutions.
- Develop and optimise SQL queries, views and data models to support reporting and analytical requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality and operational efficiency through automation and enhanced analytics.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to BI solutions, dashboards and underlying data.
- Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, performant and aligned with business requirements.
- Support the adoption of data-driven decision making by providing insight, training and guidance to business users.
- Collaborate with data scientists, SQL administrators, and other BI developers to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives) and contribute to iterative development cycles.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business intelligence, computer science or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Developer using BI technologies (Qlik preferred).
- Experience working with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Good knowledge of SQL development and queries and experience in data warehouse design and ETL framework.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages – Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
