Join us as a Street Cleansing Operative and play a vital role in keeping Lancaster’s streets, parks, and public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming. Your work will directly support our ambition for Clean, Green, and Safe Neighbourhoods, enhancing the environment and wellbeing of our community.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks including litter collection, fly tipping clearance, graffiti removal, and leaf clearance. Operating mechanical sweepers and cage vans, you’ll maintain cleanliness across the district. You’ll also handle dog faeces removal, street furniture cleaning, and seasonal duties like snow clearance and gritting. Engaging politely with the public, you’ll ensure a positive community experience while following health and safety procedures and maintaining accurate records.

You’ll Fit Right In If…
You hold a full, clean driving licence and are ready to work outdoors in all weather conditions. You’re trustworthy, able to work independently, and communicate well with the public.
