Media Helpdesk Technical Assistant

Media Services at Leeds Trinity University is a vibrant, multi-skilled, department, focusing on delivering high quality facilities underpinned by excellent technical support, for all our students and staff. The University is going through a substantial period of change and is seeking a skilled and motivated person to enhance the Help Desk support provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a team that provides support for key professional production programmes such as Journalism, Media and Photography. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the Loans Counter and Help Desk activities and involves helping to maintain a large stock of professional media production equipment. The daily tasks will include operating the online booking information system, Connect 2, as well as preparing and issuing equipment at the Loans Counter, and delivering and collecting items used in classroom sessions. The role is based at our Horsforth campus.

You will be front and centre at the Help Desk, and as such you will be expected to have excellent customer care skills. Your media production skills will be put to use delivering guidance and advice to students and staff undertaking production activities. You be involved in wider university events such as end of year shows and graduations. There will be the opportunity to train and greatly expand on your knowledge in specialist areas such as Television, Radio, and Photography studio operations.

You will have a recent background in Media Production/Journalism and have a gained an HND or BA in a related area. You will have experience in using professional video production equipment and some experience in areas such as television studio, radio studio and Photography. You will be highly motivated and have a track record of providing excellence in all aspects of client support, be that in an industrial or an educational setting. You will be familiar with production software such as the Adobe Suite and have a keen interest in using the latest software and hardware in a creative environment.

The successful applicant will be expected to work a rota in support of the core Media Loans Counter and Help Desk opening hours and provide occasional cover for evenings and weekends.
