The York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority was established as a new organisation in early 2024. It is a public sector employer with access to powers and funding to unlock transport and housing improvements, boost skills provision and help the economy transition to net zero for York and North Yorkshire. The Mayor also holds responsibilities in relation to Policing, Fire and Crime. The Opportunity
We are seeking two exceptional Executive Assistants to provide strategic executive support to either the Mayor or Deputy Mayor in a fast-paced, high-profile and politically sensitive environment. This is far more than a traditional PA role. You will operate at the centre of decision-making, helping to coordinate priorities, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure the smooth running of executive business.
Please note if successful, Police Vetting may be required for these roles.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside elected leaders, senior executives, government representatives and strategic partners, supporting the delivery of priorities that make a real difference to communities across York and North Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly organised and politically aware professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can confidently work with senior leaders and stakeholders.
You will have:
· Significant experience supporting senior executives, elected members or other high-profile public figures.
Experience working within local government, a Combined Authority, policing, fire and rescue services, Parliament, or supporting elected politicians would be particularly advantageous.
